Feng Shui says - avoid clutter and neglect
6. Avoid clutter and neglect -
• Too many decorating themes are clutter as they create a busy environment that can be exhausting and de-energizing to live in. Overdone collections of ornaments can distract and overpower.
• Make sure that everything useful and relevant has a place and eliminate items that are causing obstruction or stagnation. There’s a distinct difference between clutter and conscious storage.
• You’ll feel a wonderful sense of relief and lightness when you start to reduce and throw things out. Suddenly, there will be space for new ideas and opportunities to show up. Creating order and empty space in your home will also create order and peace within you.
• Get rid of items from the past that no longer serve you or excite you.
• Never use chipped glasses or crockery – get rid of it – symbolically, it cuts the lip or affects your speech.
• Get rid of cracked or damaged mirrors.
• Repair doors that don’t close, fix dripping taps and replace light bulbs that have burned out.
